Our Work with Helping Hands

April 21, 2025

Hi everybody, this is Mark with Burgdorf Wealth Managers. Giving back is something we enjoy doing at our office. That’s why Tina and I started Helping Hands Midwest, a nonprofit that provides a “helping hand” with landscaping & yard repair.

Over the past few years, we’ve worked alongside their team to make a real difference in the lives of those in our community.

We worked with MORE Realtors to help a widow overwhelmed by yard work. Together, we cleaned, landscaped, and brought joy to her home, showing that even small acts of service can make a big impact.

Sometimes, the need goes deeper than expected. One of our biggest projects involved transforming a home for a client with disabilities. What started as a cleanup turned into an ongoing relationship, where we continue to support her with groceries, technology, and household essentials.

One summer, we provided a reliable vehicle to a single mother of four who was starting over. Along with the car, we delivered furniture and household essentials to help her family create a stable and welcoming home.

In another project, our volunteers came together to help a man who had lost a leg and was struggling to maintain his yard. With all hands on deck, we cleared overgrown weeds, removed heavy debris, and restored his outdoor space, giving him a fresh start and a renewed sense of pride in his home.

Beyond our work with Helping Hands, we’ve also partnered with city governments, local churches, high school honor student programs, and local businesses to help even more people in our community.

At Burgdorf, we know that true wealth isn’t just about finances — it’s about community, generosity, and helping those who need it. We’re proud to work with Helping Hands Midwest and other local organizations as they love God by serving people.
